Remote Site Medical Support
Frontier Medical's remote site medical personnel are
responsible for the health and welfare of our
clients' most valuable asset, their employees. |
Our remote site medical staff have been instrumental in the
management of on-site medical emergencies as well as general
medical support. They have proved successful in the development and
implementation of health awareness initiatives and training programmes
that have directly resulted in the reduction of unnecessary downtime and
costs to operations.
Frontier Medical provides fully trained personnel who are totally prepared
for the challenge of remote site medicine. Rigorous selection procedures ensure
that only individuals with the highest qualifications and experience of working in
remote and challenging locations are employed.
Frontier Medical can draw on a team of highly experienced medical personnel to
meet the individual needs of each client. Frontier provides the services of remote site
medics, nurses and fully qualified doctors. All of Frontier's medical staff have the
requisite medical qualifications in addition to specialist remote site medical training.
They all have expert knowledge of First Aid and CPR.
Our staff's specialist knowledge of remote site medicine includes:
-
Health and hygiene
- Emergency medical and trauma care
- Occupational health and injury prevention
- Sanitation and vector control
- Prevention and treatment of adverse reactions to climate, vegetation, insects and other vectors
- Recognition and treatment of disease transmitted by insects and other vectors
- Maintenance of personnel records including immunisation and vaccination records
Frontier Medical also specialises in the provision of offshore medics with a selective
recruitment and training programme for our offshore specialists. Our offshore personnel have the appropriate
skills and knowledge for offshore assignments and hold relevant Offshore Medics Certificates.
All Frontier
Medical personnel continue to develop their specialist skills and keep up to date
on new
methods and technology through further education and training programmes. Training is
carried out in all aspects of pre-hospital care including cardiac and trauma life
support, practical procedures and diagnostic skills. Training takes place in the
United Kingdom on a regular basis, to the highest standards, in an acute clinical
setting.
Training Programmes
Frontier Medical personnel are all qualified to train groups or
individuals in first aid, from a basic to an advanced level. Additional training
can be undertaken at the request of the client to include health and safety issues
such as manual handling, the use of personal protective equipment and ergonomics.
Health Awareness Initiatives
Frontier Medical actively promotes lifestyle issues within
the workplace through the Smart Start Campaign. A proactive approach to health avoids
critical care situations which are often very expensive, not only to the individual
whose health may have suffered irreparable damage, but also to the company which may
have to bear huge costs of evacuation and replacement of personnel.
Our aim is to encourage, motivate and empower individuals to change their behaviour
and influence their lifestyle. We endeavour to help people by supporting fitness programmes,
smoking cessation and improved diet and healthy eating.
The Smart Start Campaign is implemented through the introduction of a structured health
programme which focuses on six key elements: Healthy Eating, Smoking Cessation, Drug
and Alcohol Abuse, Sexual Health, Physical Activity and Stress Management. All our
remote site medical teams are encouraged to develop additional programmes that are relevant
to their workplace, such as travel health.
