Malaria Information

The increase in the number of fatalities from Malaria amongst people visiting areas known to be high risk, highlights a complacency in the travelling community about the dangers of this widespread disease, which infects 300-500 million people. In 2003 the number of deaths from Malaria amongst travellers returning to the UK alone doubled to sixteen.

Malaria is preventable and treatable. As an organisation responsible for a global or travelling workforce, can you ensure your employees are getting the right advice?

Take Action!

Minimise the risk of illness and malarial infection amongst your employees....

Develop a company malaria protocol that supports individual travellers as well as providing procedures for any corporate medical facilities provided on location.
Ensure employees travelling or working in malaria hotspots have been informed of the risks.
Provide information about: how to prevent infection, how to recognise infection and essential items to pack.
Supply suitable equipment and first aid material to prevent insect bites and to test in case of infection.
