Staff Profile - Robert Mark FIMC RCS(Ed)
Dr Bob Mark is the Clinical Advisor for Frontier
Medical Services. He has extensive practical experience of all aspects
of remote area medical care, including preventative medicine, routine care,
medical, surgical and traumatic emergencies, aeromedical evacuation and
disaster planning.
Dr Mark has been Frontier's Clinical Advisor since 1996 and provides
medical support to remote area projects on land and at sea. Dr Mark carries
out duties in the UK and overseas including advising on the development of
all aspects of medical standards, policy and practice. He undertakes routine
and 24-hour emergency advice for medics and doctors as well as audits of
medical and paramedical activity including professional performance appraisal.
Dr Mark deals with critical incident assessment and feedback and is involved
in staff selection and training of remote area medics and doctors. Dr Mark
is instrumental in providing telephone medical advice to field staff and clients.
In addition, Dr Mark advises on travel medicine and other areas of
preventative care. He conducts audits and medical reconnaissance visits to
overseas projects including Oman, Eritrea, Sudan and India. He also provides
consultancy on pre-hospital care, equipment and training as well as marketing
and educational presentations to client companies.
Dr Mark also works in emergency medicine in both the hospital and pre-hospital
environments and is currently Associate Specialist at Bradford Royal Infirmary
Accident and Emergency Department. His current clinical knowledge and expertise
allows him to provide expert training and advice to both the company's clients
and its medical and paramedical staff, particularly in matters relating to the
emergency medical care.
Dr Mark lectures, instructs and publishes on various aspects of remote area,
pre-hospital and emergency medicine.
